Daniela Rodrigues (Lisbon, 1984) holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology — Politics and Images of Culture and Museology, a Master's degree in Migrations, Interethnicity, and Transnationalism, and has parallel training in drawing and ethnographic film. Her work combines artistic and academic practices, focusing on everyday gestures of care as practices of resistance.

Favoring analog tools, she has led workshops in ethnographic drawing since 2015, and her illustrated book coisas de lá / aqui já está sumindo eu received the 2020 Award for Best Audiovisual Essay in Anthropology, granted by the Portuguese Association of Anthropology

As an ANFAA post-doctoral researcher, she is conducting the research project "Essays for an Ethnography of the Soil" on the soils of Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal, exploring onto-epistemological perspectives on soil. Focusing on land occupations during the revolutionary period of Agrarian Reform and bio-social practices that currently nourish eroded soils, this art-based research seeks to create, through sensorial and experimental audiovisual tools, a possible field for imagining futures.

Daniela is a member of the Visual Anthropology Committee (CAV) of the Brazilian Association of Anthropology, a cooperator of Minga – Cooperativa Integral (Montemor-o-Novo), and a member of Laboratório da Torre (Porto) and the cultural association Fogo Posto.
