Daniela Rodrigues (Lisbon, 1984) holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology - Politics and Images of Culture and Museology, a Master's degree in Migrations, Interethnicity, and Transnationalism, and has parallel training in drawing and ethnographic film. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in visual anthropology at IDEAS (AMU/ANFAA) and is conducting research on "Lines and Layers for Sintropic Storytelling: An Ethnography of the Soil". Exploring ecological and social relationships between humans and more-than-humans, her work has interconnected artistic and academic practices in multimodal and collaborative formats. Her work combines artistic and academic practices, primarily through collaborative methods. Favoring analog tools, she leads workshops in ethnographic drawing. Her illustrated book coisas de lá / aqui já está sumindo eu received the 2020 Award for Best Audiovisual Essay in Anthropology, granted by the Portuguese Association of Anthropology. She is a member of the self-managed laboratory Laboratório da Torre (Porto), the NAVA – Visual Anthropology and Art Nucleus of the Networked Center for Research in Anthropology (CRIA, Portugal), as well as the CAV – Visual Anthropology Committee of the Brazilian Anthropological Association.
